Magdalena is an experienced climate advocate and conservationist with over a decade of expertise in local and regional planning, community engagement, project management and environmental justice advocacy. As a thought leader in community-led coastal resilience-building, she specializes in building equity-centered partnerships and ensuring that the lived experiences of communities most impacted remain central to project outcomes. In addition to her work in climate resilience, she is an experienced non-profit leader with an educational background in international development and human rights. She is MACC and WEDG certified, a Conservation Commissioner in her town, an appointed member of the Advisory Committee to the Administrative Council on Toxics Use Reduction (TURA), certified interpreter, and is fully fluent in 3 languages, with semi-fluency in 3 additional foreign languages. As central to her environmental work, she employs a high use of multicultural sensitivity gained from live/study abroad experiences in South America, North & East Africa as well as working in coastally-based urban neighborhoods of Metro-NYC and the Boston area.
