MEES has several volunteer positions available throughout the year:
Volunteer on an Action Team
Currently MEES has 4 action teams that meet monthly to work on ongoing projects that support our work. If you have skills in one of these areas we would love you to get in touch. The action teams and the types of skills we are looking for are:
- Governance – knowledge of bylaws, board member recruitment and orientation, decolonizing systems and procedures for the internal workings of the board.
- Fundraising – grant writing, donor outreach, fundraising appeals, and creative ways to support MEES financially.
- Conference – event planning, community outreach, and partnership building (especially with people are partners we have underserved in the past).
- Marketing and Communication – Website maintenance, social media outreach, and assistance with expanding our reach.
Volunteer at the Annual Conference
Receive complimentary attendance at the conference in exchange for an hour or two of your time. This might include assisting with set-up and break-down, greeting and directing attendees, or
Volunteer to Host an Educator Gathering
We have heard from our community that more opportunities are needed for in-person networking and connection year round! If you have an idea for a gathering in your area, please connect with us to explore the possibilities. We are especially interested in supporting gatherings that bring together educators who might be geographically far from the annual conference location or who would like to create affinity group meetings for specific sectors of EE, live experiences/identities, or mentoring opportunities for early career educators.
