Laura brings expertise in education, environmental science, and maritime operations to the MEES Board, drawing on a wide-ranging professional background. She is currently the lead teacher for the environmental science career technical area at Essex North Shore Agricultural and Technical School, where she has taught since 2017. Laura is also an OSHA-authorized trainer and instructs the 40-hour Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response (HAZWOPER) course. Before entering the field of education, Laura served for 10 years in the NOAA Commissioned Officer Corps serving aboard NOAA research vessels. Laura holds a Master of Arts in Teaching from Brown University, a Master of Arts from Baylor University, and a Bachelor of Science from Cornell University.
