AFTERSCHOOL EDUCATOR
The Afterschool Program Educator position is a part-time (12hr/wk) position with a regular schedule each week during the afterschool hours of 2:30pm to 5:30pm. As an afterschool educator you and a lead educator will lead youths ranging in age from 6-12 years old in nature-based activities in schoolyards, parks, and other outdoor wild spaces on the North Shore of Massachusetts. These programs emphasize exploration, group cooperation, nature study, and experiential learning.
Activities could include: short hikes, inclusive games, building things with nature materials, observation of real plants and animals, and supervised imaginative free play.
Educators will be confident in their interactions with children and will be eager to share their joy of nature with all program participants. The Afterschool Educator will work in conjunction with other afterschool educators and with the Program Director to provide a safe and optimal experience for all children under their supervision.

Qualifications:
– Must be at least 16 years of age.
– Experience working with children preferred.
– Must have an interest in local ecosystems and/or be curious about the natural world.
– Comfort working outside in all types of seasonal weather.
– Ability to work cooperatively and independently.
– Reliable transportation to and from work sites.
Skills/Experience You Will Gain:

Hours:
Monday – Thursday; 2:30pm to 5:30pm

Wages:
$15-18/hr based on experience. No benefits are available.
