Kathryn has been with MA Dept. of Conservation and Recreation since 2007, working at fascinating places such as Purgatory Chasm and Blackstone River & Canal Heritage State Park. She is passionate about offering programming for all ages and abilities, specializing in connecting young children to nature and the outdoors. Kathryn became dedicated to water education while telling the river recovery story of the Blackstone River, the birthplace of the American Industrial Revolution. She now continues water education outreach for DCR’s Division of Water Supply Protection at Wachusett Reservoir. Her focus is celebrating clean unfiltered drinking water from the reservoirs and protecting water for the next generations. She leads the water station for the Massachusetts Envirothon and loves rainy day hikes.
Before working with DCR, Kathryn provided creative educational experiences for early learners for over 15 years. Previously the MEES Treasurer for a full term, we welcomed Kathryn’s enthusiasm and expertise back as a MEES board member in 2017.
