The Town of Natick is seeking candidates for the role of an Assistant Director, Farm for the Natick Organic Farm.
The position is responsible for overseeing the management of all educational services (school, public & summer programs) and education staff. Managing and educating a diverse ever-changing work force comprised of seasonal workers, volunteers of all ages (youth – senior citizens) and individuals with physical and mental disabilities. Works collaboratively with the Livestock Manager, Community Programs Coordinator, and the School & Scouts Program Coordinator to ensure the delivery of daily, weekly & seasonal programs to schools and community groups. Creates both short- & long-term strategies to ensure that programs meet the needs of the community and our partners within the Natick school system. Assists the Executive Director with day-to-day operations.
Bachelor’s Degree in sustainable agriculture or organic agriculture; environmental education, animal husbandry or a related field is preferred. Candidates must have at least 5 years of experience in hands-on education and a minimum of 5 years of work experience in environmental education, organic agriculture, or a related field. Demonstrated practical experience working with and educating youth and volunteers required.
