Co teach a Summer Camp program all about survival in nature. Each week, our small band of intrepid explorers is told a an adventure story resulting in a survival situation, such as lost in the woods, shipwrecked, or stranded science expedition. The group works together to learn the skills needed to survive. This program is based on being lighthearted and fun and on promoting student voice, leadership, freedom, and responsibility. The campers are ages 7-12 and all adventure together. We build fires, shelters, rafts, water filters, and more. We play lots of games and roast s’mores, and explore the natural world. The kids have lots of input and choices, and the structure is fairly open, although we have some set daily routines and strict safety rules.
Ideally, we are looking for a co instructor with survival skill experience, lifeguard training, CPR, and Wilderness First Aid.
