Young children, curious and fascinated by the world around them, are natural explorers and scientists. By incorporating ocean science in early elementary, teachers can engage young students and excite them about STEM. Participants will explore essential scientific concepts such as water properties, ocean habitats and animals, while making connections to literacy, math and art. Programming will include engaging hands-on investigations and a field trip to a local coastal habitat. Workshop investigations include an overview to the standards alignment, and adhere to the 2016 MA STE and NGSS curriculum frameworks.
