The Boston Harbor Association (TBHA) promotes a clean, alive, and accessible Boston Harbor. TBHA’s “Harbor Bound” education program introduces students to job opportunities in the environmental field, and educates them about environmental issues confronting Boston Harbor. This innovative, free program brings high school age students on a boat tour of Boston Harbor and provides them with hands-on opportunities to conduct water quality tests, tour the Massachusetts Water Resources Authority’s sewage treatment facility on Deer Island, and hear from career speakers in the maritime and environmental fields. The harbor program teaches young people to respect Boston Harbor and instills a sense of long-term stewardship for the environment.
