The Secretary’s Advisory Group on Environmental Education was formed in Massachusetts over two decades ago to advise the Secretary of the Executive Office of Environmental Affairs (EOEA) and the Commissioner of the Department of Education (DOE) on strategy for the development of environmental education. SAGEE is a statewide organization of professional formal and nonformal environmental educators who function in a variety of capacities in both the public and private sectors. Active members meet quarterly and work with designated EOEA and DOE staff to provide counsel and assistance in implementing a plan for environmental education throughout the Commonwealth.
