Arianna Alexsandra Grindrod holds an MS in Environmental Administration from Antioch New England Graduate School and is a hard-working, self-motivated individual with a background in environmental education and administration, and a strong and steady track record of educational excellence. As an educator with over twenty years of experience in environmental and community education, Arianna has proven to be an engaging and motivating speaker, inspiring and creating opportunities for her participants to connect with nature and a sense of place. She served as the Education Director at the Northeast Sustainable Energy Association (NESEA) based in Greenfield, Massachusetts for 3½ years where she managed teacher training workshops, special projects, fundraising efforts, and the marketing of NESEA’s education programming throughout its 10-state district. Prior to her work at NESEA, Arianna served as the Education Coordinator at the Bonnyvale Environmental Education Center (BEEC) in Brattleboro, VT where she managed BEEC’s school and camp programs. Additionally she served as the Acting Executive Director for six months. For several years prior BEEC, she ran her own business, contracting with numerous environmental education centers, businesses, and schools throughout New England to design and facilitate natural science/natural history, sustainable living, and community building programs. Currently Arianna is volunteering for her husband's business Earthwork Programs and serving as Co-Chair for the 45th annual NEEEA Conference.

Throughout this spring, NESEA staff and our Junior Solar Sprint (JSS) Area-State Coordinators will facilitate free workshops to teachers and non-formal educators on applications in solar energy with hands-on experience in learning how to build a mini solar car. Coordinators will also be gearing up for area and state contests later in the spring with top winners invited to NESEA's annual championship on Sunday, June 12, 2011 in Springfield, MA. Additionally, NESEA was awarded $14,800 in grant funds from the Western Massachusetts Electric Company (WMECO) to support educator training workshops on solar energy through our Clean Energy for a Clean Environment Program (CECE). If you are a formal or non-formal educator and you are a WMECO customer, you are eligible to receive free training through the CECE program. Learn about the properties of solar energy and its applications and how to integrate concepts of renewable energy into your STEM programs.  CECE curricular units are aligned to the Massachusetts State Frameworks for third through 12th grade.  Complimentary solar energy educational kits are available to participants.
