MEES 2011: Navigating MA Environmental Education

For more than 30 years, the MEES Conference has attracted participants with its innovative workshops, networking opportunities, informative exhibits, pleaseant atmosphere, and excellent cuisine.  The MEES Conference draws a diverse audience including classroom teachers from pre-school through college, museum staff, nature center staff, administrators, and community resource leaders.  Join your fellow environmental educators and all who are dedicated to providing experiences that educate, excite, and commit all generations to conserve the environment and help them become responsible stewards.

The 2011 MEES Conference Theme is "Navigating MA Environmental Education: Mountains to Marine."  Workshops will share ideas for helping students to visualize, map, appreciate, understand, improve, and protect the places that are special to them.  Workshops also share tools that can be used to promote positive environmental attidtues and behaviors and to keep the message of environmental conservation fresh, timely, and inspiring across the state.

Review the workshops on our website, and then Register Online. You may also download the 2011 Conference Brochure to review workshops and print out the registration form to mail in.

Conference registration fee is $90.00.  Register by January 28th and pay only $75.  Full time student's fee is $60.00.  Please register and postmark checks and paperforms by the general deadline of February 11, 2011.  Registration is first-come, first-served.  Registration may end sooner than February 11th if the registration limit is met.

    Each year for more than three decades, environmental educators from Massachusetts and beyond have gathered to share their ideas, stories, and resources. The conference draws a diverse audience including classroom teachers from pre-school to college, museum and nature center staff and administrators, and community resource leaders.

    This year's theme is Environmental Sustainability in Our Schools, Centers, and Selves. Environmental sustainability is an important and timely topic, both locally and nationally.  The term as used here refers to the potential longevity of vital human ecological systems, such as climate, agriculture, industry, forestry, and fisheries.

    Join your fellow teachers both formal and informal, musuem and nature center staff, and everyone who is dedicated to providing experiences that educate, excite, and commit all generations to preserve the environment and to promote its responsible use.
