The Town of Wellesley has an opening for a part-time (19 hours/week) for an Environmental Education and Outreach Coordinator.
The Environmental Education and Outreach Coordinator (Coordinator), working within the policies established by the Natural Resources Commission (NRC) plans, coordinates and manages the NRC’s environmental education and outreach programs and external communication efforts.
Reporting to the NRC Director, the Coordinator’s primary responsibilities are to create and distribute environmental education information, develop and implement environmental education programs, and maintain communication with the public. The work requires knowledge of federal, state and local environmental regulations and strong written and oral communication skills. The incumbent meets with a variety of community groups at facilities located throughout the Town.
Requirements: Course work in Education, Environmental Sciences, Education, Communications, Marketing, or related field and one year of work experience in the areas of environmental education, environmental science or communication or an equivalent combination of education and experience; knowledge of federal, state and local environmental issues; demonstrated success in interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills; demonstrated experience in effective use of digital platforms; and a valid driver’s license and own vehicle.
The anticipated hiring pay range is $28.98 – $35.42/hour and the position is not benefit eligible.
